IBS 54 - 2 TIMOTHY 2:2

And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
II Timothy 2:2


This is discipleship. It’s taking what has been faithfully poured into us and now taking it and pouring it into others. It’s beautiful. I have had the privilege of seeing it so up close for 3 months now. Seeing the faithfulness and endurance in which leadership has poured into myself and my class. There were moments where tougher conversations were had, and it wasn’t always the easiest to receive but truth was spoken. Sin was brought into the light and we were being equipped everyday to go out into the world and be assets. We were able to see people who love the Lord be faithful to our out what had been poured in. Even when it wasn’t always what the world would say the “ easiest “ but still they were consistent in pouring into us. They were being used by the Lord to now equip us to go and do the same thing. We are now to go and make disciples, and be faithful in love to God and others by taking what we have learned and applying it to our lives. We must now go and take the truth they have been sharing and living around us and go out into all the world and be faithful stewards and share it.

IBS 39 - MATTHEW 18:15

Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. Matthew 18:15 I don’t like conflict. I don’t like telling people when I feel that I’ve been wronged. It makes me afraid. I have a hard to time with people pleasing. So making someone upset isn’t something I enjoy. So going to someone if I feel I’ve been wronged is hard. For what seems like years, God has been growing me in this area. I have had a fun time in a lot of different relationships and having to deal with resolving conflict. Which hasn’t been easy. Because I know He desires for His body to live in unity. But fear cripples me from saying anything. Yet here we’ve been called to go, seek out our brother or sister, and resolve it. It’s love. That is something that has taken me a while to start grasping. IBS 78 - LUKE 3:8

Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.  Luke 3:8 Here John the Baptist is talking to the multitudes and calling for repentance. I have heard this verse many a time. And always just said yes and amen because it’s a “good verse”. Yet as I have gone through the book of Luke it just hit hard. So many times I think I’ve repented of sin yet my heart remains that same. My sin does not disgust me. I say “okay, better not do that again. But oh man, wasn’t it fun. Didn’t please God, but what fond memories.” That view of my sin is not repentance. I am not seeing my sin as something which separates me from communion with my Father. I just see it as a fun pass-time I probably should be involved in anymore. True repentance bears fruit not only in my life but in my heart and mind. I should be disgusted by my sin and truly despise it.
