IBS 27 - 1 CORINTHIANS 9:22

To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.
1 Corinthians 9:22

Christ meets us where we are. We are called to do the same. Not that by doing that all will be saved. But some will. It’s not falling into the sin or accepting sin but being able to meet them there because we understand their struggle. To be all things to all people. I believe you must be filled with the Spirit. Because it’s so easy to do any of that in your own strength. But I know I can’t be all things to all people. I haven’t experienced all things. But in the Spirit there is a sensitivity to others and where they are. Though I may not have experienced or lived through everything that others have I can meet them where they are because I struggle too. Sin is sin. It has different consequences for different people but in the end it’s death for all. And Jesus is life for all who receive. So inasmuch as I can’t He most definitely can and all I have to do is be available. Be ready and willing to be weak to the weak, strong to the strong, Jew to the Jews. Knowing in all of it, it’s has to be Him.

IBS 39 - MATTHEW 18:15

Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. Matthew 18:15 I don’t like conflict. I don’t like telling people when I feel that I’ve been wronged. It makes me afraid. I have a hard to time with people pleasing. So making someone upset isn’t something I enjoy. So going to someone if I feel I’ve been wronged is hard. For what seems like years, God has been growing me in this area. I have had a fun time in a lot of different relationships and having to deal with resolving conflict. Which hasn’t been easy. Because I know He desires for His body to live in unity. But fear cripples me from saying anything. Yet here we’ve been called to go, seek out our brother or sister, and resolve it. It’s love. That is something that has taken me a while to start grasping. IBS 78 - LUKE 3:8

Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.  Luke 3:8 Here John the Baptist is talking to the multitudes and calling for repentance. I have heard this verse many a time. And always just said yes and amen because it’s a “good verse”. Yet as I have gone through the book of Luke it just hit hard. So many times I think I’ve repented of sin yet my heart remains that same. My sin does not disgust me. I say “okay, better not do that again. But oh man, wasn’t it fun. Didn’t please God, but what fond memories.” That view of my sin is not repentance. I am not seeing my sin as something which separates me from communion with my Father. I just see it as a fun pass-time I probably should be involved in anymore. True repentance bears fruit not only in my life but in my heart and mind. I should be disgusted by my sin and truly despise it.
